This is a montage of my cinematography from a variety of corporate projects. I edited and color graded this piece on Adobe Premiere Pro.

Nationwide Insurance Corporate Video

On this particular piece I was able to edit my own version utilizing the shoot footage, changing some of the edit choices, re-creating the graphics, and selecting an alternate music bed. Adobe Premiere Pro was the editing system, while the camera system used was the Sony FS-7 with Zeiss prime lenses.

This is my version of a recruitment video which I shot on Black Magic cameras and edited / color-timed on DaVinci Resolve.

Central Coast Charm

This piece represents my appreciation of California's Central Coast. Utilizing a Canon C300 with Zeiss Compact Prime lenses, I shot and edited this piece using footage from a corporate project in and around Santa Barbara.

'Opening the Door West'

This is a montage of my footage from a feature-length historical documentary concerning the westward expansion of European settlers west of the American colonies. It aired on regional PBS and involved historical reenactments as well as interviews with historians. Shot on Super 16mm film and utilizing student crew volunteers and reenactors, it went on to win several educational awards.

MTV2 Graffiti Ghost

This national image piece for MTV2 utilized both HD video and DSLR photography to acquire the necessary imagery for the post effects. "Graffiti Ghost" was part of the 'ResFest World Tour' at the time.

LawyersDotCom - "Stand-up"

Nothing says "dying comic" better than a lone spot light in an otherwise darkened club. A throwback to an early Arthur Penn movie, "Mickey One" with a young Warren Beatty.

Fifth Third Bank "Back Then"

This 35mm spot was shot on color negative with the color removed in post. Staging and lighting are meant to evoke a 1950s TV feel.

Cincinnati Ballet "Join the Movement"

This PSA was shot on 16mm color negative and received a regional Emmy for Best Cinematography.

Baptist Hospital

Shot on 35mm film on location in a working hospital.

Mt. Sinai Hospital "Relationships"

This regional commercial was shot on 35mm film utilizing portrait style lighting. The aim of the cinematography was to support the intimacy and "real people" themes.

MTV2 "Alley"

One of a series national image spots for MTV2 which also played the One Screen Festival in NYC. Shot on Super-16mm film and utilizing existing overcast sky lighting, it was fun shooting the simplicity of a man having to do what a man has to do.

About me...

I am a Director of Photography / Cinematographer working in a wide range of professional and artistic settings including non-fiction television, commercials, music videos, corporate image films and narrative shorts and features.

Highlights include an Emmy for Best Cinematography for a PSA promoting the arts, a Grammy nomination for Best Long Form Video by Death Cab for Cuite,"Directions", for which I was Cinematographer on "Summer Skin", and several awards for the PBS documentary, "Opening the Door West", as well as working on documentary productions for the BBC, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, Showtime and HBO.

Cinematography is ultimately about helping to tell a story in a visually captivating way, and a top priority of mine is to exceed expectations through positive collaboration.
